Becoming a Business Owner – Train the Trainer Program : Part 2

March 5, 2018 @ 8:30 am - 4:30 pm

Business Leaders of Colors (BLOC) members currently have an opportunity to participate in a Train the Trainer program created by Alternatives FCU especially for our group.

Participants in the program will be trained as instructors to teach Alternatives’ Becoming a Business Owner workshop in your communities.

Normally this program is $150 registration, but BLOC members can access this training free before May 2018, thanks to grant funding.

You will receive all materials and instruction while working with the advisors in the Alternatives Business CENTS program.

The training program will allow you to learn the content of Becoming a Business Owner so that you can be paid by Alternatives FCU to offer the workshop the training in your own communities.

The price you will be paid while acting as an instructor for the workshop is $30/hour. Alternatives will continue to work with each trainer to ensure you have all of the tools and resources you need to hold future training sessions.

Kathleen Clark, Business Development Manager at Alternatives FCU, will coordinate with each individual interested in exploring this opportunity to determine the best way for you to receive the training on a timeline that works for you. Some of the options may include:

  • Breakfast or Lunch Roundtable Sessions
  • Video Conferencing
  • One-on-one training sessions to take place at Alternatives FCU
  • Coffee talk sessions can be used for teaching and practice
  • Group sessions for teaching and practice

She has also agreed to waive the fee for the upcoming Becoming a Business Owner class to any BLOC members that are interested to determine if you may want to become a trainer.

This takes place February 21st & 28th, 8:30-4:30.

The registration fee is $150 but will be $0 for BLOC members.

Are you interested in learning the content and sharing it within your communities?

Do you have questions about the training?

If so, please ask your questions and let me know by February 1, 2018.

I believe this is an incredible opportunity to improve our own businesses while helping others with theirs. It also speaks to BLOC’s desire to offer a hand up, to potential business owners of colors.

I look forward to hearing from you.
